We have several families traveling in the next few months that have offered to take donations. The first family is a longtime RR family, the Rieben Family. Valerie and Richard Rieben have five children at home. They are adopting three more from Bulgaria. Valerie will travel on their next trip in July. One of the orphanages they are adopting from could really use some donations! Val said the children are given a comfort item, like a stuffed animal, as babies, but when they are transferred to the older child groups, they are not allowed to take this with them, so quilts would be the perfect item for these children- something of their OWN to give them comfort. Please email Valerie at valerie@avitria.com for information on how to get the quilts to her.
Our next family is the VanDyck Family. Jenny and Joe have three children at home and are adopting two more. They are hoping to take as many donations as they possibly can to their daughters' orphanage. Hats, quilts, mittens, etc., all are welcome! The VanDyck family is waiting on USCIS approval, so we do not yet have a travel date- maybe 1-2 months (I am guesstimating here!). Email Jenny at jennylovescandles@yahoo.com for information on how to get donations to her.
Next we have the Parker Family. Charley and Kate have seven children at home and are adopting two more. They also are awaiting USCIS approval and we do not have a travel date yet. To send donations with the Parker family, please email Kate at wheninrome10@yahoo.com.
So we have an idea of how many quilts are still needed, please also contact me or leave a comment. Please specify which family you plan to send the blankets to and how many. Thank you so much! Together we can offer some comfort and warmth to orphans around the world.
